The doorway is the most domestic of portal forms — it's what you pass through every day, scaled up and reframed. Taking the most ordinary threshold in architecture and pointing it at dreams rather than rooms changes the register entirely: the same action (stepping through) leads somewhere the architecture of a house was never designed to go. The piece uses that tension between the familiar form (door, frame, threshold) and the content on the other side (the dreamed, the imagined, the not-yet-real) as its central visual idea.
