An expressionist whirlwind of motion and color, this painting shows figures surging forward, waving Hungarian flags with raw intensity—faces distorted in passion, the red, white, and green bleeding into a chaotic, defiant sky.  A companion to another piece, full banners rather than small touches of color, carried openly through a crowd rather than concealed in plain sight. Czimber seems to have painted the same idea twice at two different volumes: one quiet act of defiance, and one collective, public version of the same gesture. Seen together, the pair traces how private resistance can, under the right conditions, become a shared one.
