Les Czimber Live Jazz Download - mp3 #2
An excellent advanced pianist able to bring his own conception of straight-ahead Jazz, Les Czimber considered it a miracle that he ever made it to the United States. After being trained in classical piano, he discovered Jazz in communist occupied Hungary by listening to Voice of America broadcasts, and as a teenager he led a jazz band in Budapest. After the Hungarian revolution failed, Les escaped soviet occupied Hungary and fled to Milwaukee where he led a band with a young and soon to be famous singer, Al Jarreau. After meeting the Jazz legend Bill Evans, Les became a quick study of his style, which can be clearly heard in his music. This collection of tapes were recorded at live events between 1977 - 1983.
