An allegorical scene — figures in costume moving through what looks like a celebration, until you notice the skeletal forms woven into the procession. Czimber borrows from a much older European painting tradition here (Enlivening expressionist painting of Danse Macabre–a reminder that death always lurks even in the midst of ecstatic revelry.), updating it with details that place it firmly in his own century. It's a piece that rewards a longer look than its festive surface initially invites.
